Photography & Drone Flying Experience
Photography has been a hobby and passion for me my entire life. From my first Kodak 110 when I was in elementary school, to the 12 megapixel cameras on the drones I use today, I love to photograph the beautiful landscape of this State, and can always be found to have a camera on hand at family functions.
I was a Certified Real Estate Appraiser for over 20 years here in Utah. Back in 2008 I gradually began to lose the use of my legs as a result of a previous car accident. After a few years I became confined to a wheelchair, and could no longer work full time.
Over the 20+ years that I was a real estate appraiser, I took thousands of photos of the interiors and exteriors of homes and properties. It was always important to me to make sure that I took pictures that showed the important features of the properties, and it was one of my favorite parts of my job. About 3 years ago I flew a drone that my father had purchased, and I was instantly hooked. I bought my first drone less than a month later. Over the past few years I have owned several different drones, which I have flown a combined total over 115 hours of flight, and a total distance of over 500 miles (so far!).
Earlier this year (2020) I became a FAA Certified UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) Remote Pilot, so that I could fly my drones for commercial use. It seemed a natural fit for me to use my drones, my love of photography, and my experience of photographing real estate, to create an opportunity for self employment. I have 3 helpful and supportive children who assist me with the business. I often have one of them along, to be a spotter and help me keep track of our drones as we shoot photos and videos of properties. My oldest, my 17 year old son, can frequently be found riding along with me and is learning the business as well.
